Engelmann Fields, a name that comes from before everything went bad, is a small, fortified plot of land providing crops for the inhabitants of Sandburg Castle and Curtin Hall. It is maintained with the knowledge of the Lorekeepers and the manpower of the residents of Sandburg Castle. The fields, which used to be sporting grounds of some sort, have slowly grown larger, and now take up almost half of a city block. Engelmann Fields produces mostly potatoes and other durable vegetables. Engelmann fields is surrounded by barricades and makeshift fences. It is also guarded constantly. It is not the only food source for the area, but with the scarcity of reliable food sources, the Engelmann Fields are preciously kept.
